Saw this video on another forum, thought it might be a good one to share.

Garden train in the 70's in england and they had live diesel already.

Bob Symes railway. Really great stuff. The live diesel really cool.
Hopefully it all will survive now he's gone.

The first live steam coal train is absolutely fantastic: looks so real! I admire the skill to buils such a loco, but also the patience to build so many cars!
Is it the same scale on the whole video? The scene with the coal steam seems to be a larger scale that the one with live steam.
The live diesel motor is a two cylinder not very common indeed. I think live diesel is not very difficult to achieve in comparison with live steam as far as you can buy a thermic motor. The mechanical challenge is just coupling the motor and the generator. Of course in the 70's the electronic speed control was not as easy as today.

But I really admire the coal steam engine train: a perfection!

What kind of locomotive is it? Though I do not know a lot about british steam engines, I would presume it is a Princess Coronation class or a princess royal class. Anyhow, it is a very beautiful machine! Probably one of the most beautiful ever made with the Chapelon Pacific 231 nord Of course the Mallard is more famous because of the world speed record but I do not like the streamlining so much...

I am not a specialist, but the scale I, like Aster engines, very expensive, but lovely.
You could chose gaz or coal as an option in those engines.

Here a link, but I am sure other exist.

I thought it was bigger than scale I, something like 64mm track or 3" track, but I may be wrong.I found this link of a loc that looks pretty much the same:

and it is in scale I

Anyway I looked at your link and saw a fantastic 241P! Gosh, that's something! Probably the price is fantastic too.
