| I want to make another diorama like the Marketplace and gypsy camp. Trouble is i seem to have run out of ideas! Its got to be non train related so that it can be placed anywhere on the layout; must fit on a board maximum 40cm x 40cm; and it must be ok for a 1910 rural setting. Anyone got any suggestions?

| How about.... Boules or Pétanque?
Played everywhere and anywhere in France especially in the South.

| Thats a good idea Carl. Never thought of that. Bit of a challenge to make a couple of stooping players perhaps, but at least the boules are easy!

| Ten minutes quick research came up with this picture of the first ever Petanque tournament in.... 1910. So this could be good!! Mikey | |

| Hello,
Here few more idea
It's the beginning of truck and car, but not a lot.
The local post and telegraph is important. The phone exist but only in few places.
You could see is a lot of old type network of telegraph pole next to train line.
Train compagny were massively early equipte with phone line and communication device.
(I have pictures but I cannot download them at the moment)

| Blimey Mikey....
Impressed at the dynamic motivation to produce a model. You're a bit like the 60's/70's creative shows on TV, Blue Peter, Tony Hart, Rolf Harris all that stuff.
Excellent. Will we see it in situ soon or is that for the spring now?
I think a couple of tanned fat blokes with balding heads and a bottle of Pastis springs to mind.

| Nice little vignette Mikey.
What about a couple of old women just talking, but say with one of them holding a chicken by the feet, what she might have just purchased from the market?
Or how about a guy with a camera on a big old tripod, taking these new-fangled photographs for future reference some 100 years later!
Or, what about a wedding party standing outside the church? (could be a second source of income for the photographer man!)
