| This turntable is a Hornby 00 kit bash. I removed the control kiosk, attached scored plasticard "woodgrain" deck either side of the code 332 rail - which was superglued to the platic base. Two wires were then soldered to the code 332 s which ensures electrical continuity with the split ring contacts under the base of the turntable. Paint to taste........ This one is hand operated - as per prototype of the Murtalbahn (past and present) | |

| That's a great idea with the Hornby turntable Paul. Do you have any more pics please or an article published elswhere perhaps? They were all over the French metre gauge...les petit plaques tournantes. Every line (and station) should have one. | |

| I lost the pictures of the work to the turntable when my previous computer failed, but this is the original model prior to conversion......... You can see the control kiosk which needs to be removed. The code 332 rails fit exactly on the lines of the metal handrails (which you don't use) to get 45mm gauge . I did consider motorising the turntable, but it is an open case motor and the plastic mechanism isn't robust enough to turn a Stainz, U Class or Rugen 0-8-0WT. (The latter loco weighs 4 kilos). | |

| It was a good day to run trains. (I must get a smoothing compound for that station or there will be trouble with passenger complaints ) | |

| I am a winging Brit. Its been to B hot today 34 c I had some friends round to see the trains and the thermal cut out on my (admittedly home made) power supply kept tripping out very disappointing. Great photograph by the way.Or is that being sycophantic | |

| 38 degrees down here today.Too hot for anything! (and i mean anything). this evening it has cooled down to 32 so we are going to finish sand ballasting the track. Oh yes getting back to the subject; its a Stainz invasion. You know they all originate from Australia, where they are known as the 'under stainz'!

| I can't get enough of them At the risk of repeating myself......again The one on the left with the straight stack is one of the first ones made by LGB in 1968 - it still runs, but on analogue only as the motor was made to run off max 14 volts. | |
