| Clever solution on the passing loops. This will give you more room for longer trains (and I think you have spared 1 turnout?) | |

| This picture appeals to me, very CFD. overgrown tracks and a road running alongside the railway. It could almost be real.

Evening Paul sorry we missed your testing at the week-end, we have had some poor weather over the last few weeks. Hope to catch up with you before Llanfair. Great pics Les

| Paul, I believe that you remove the traction tyres, I have done the same but mine rocks like a stool with one short leg - how do you get around that ? | |

Hi Patrick, my locos are okay on LGB code 332 track.......do you use Peco code 250 track ? (It is smaller in both width and height).

| Usual thing is to change the wheel.

| I don't know about LGB parts too much but with USA Trains bogies there is one axle with 'traction tyres' and one without. These can be ordered quite reasonably as spares as a direct replacement for the tyred axle.
I wonder if anyone has tried to replace the tyre with something metallic like a brass ring.

| @Paul Its a mix of LGB and Aristo code 332, it is the age old problem of stalling on points where it rears it's ugly head, it stalls on the frogs, I rock it, it jerks and stalls again.
@Troy I didn't really want to get into changing the wheel - it was an experiment to see if it still stalled on points R1 of course and don't even mention the crossover - alas it does because only 3 wheels are contacting the track. I am using dcc and the slow shunting setting, probably be ok with more speed but this is my table top layout - speed is not desirable. Might try a brass/copper band in the groove (one day).
I think the removal has made things worse because it affects the front diagonally opposite wheel too because there is less weight over that wheel caused by the imbalance. I think to replace with a normal wheel or filling the groove with something conductive is what is needed. mmmmmmmmm I have a plan..............
Anyway thanks all

| Mmm. Not sure why my locos don't wobble. They are all fitted with extra lead weight, so they are all around 2.2 kilos each. I have found that with the traction tyre removed, electrical pick up is much improved and they never stall on points and their tractive effort is at least as good as with the tyre.....

| I keep repeating myself but anytime I see pictures of your layout I find them very great and your layout is beautiful. Looks like you had some better weather the last days (at least yesterday) than me in the low countries... Woul love to see I love the AEG cable engine! Are you planning to make overhead wires for it?

| Hi Paulus The overhead wires are shown below (No wires between the posts though - they are imaginary) I also have a green steeple cab loco for this section of the line. And down at Wieselburg junction.... | |
