A new engine from Roundcraft Empty
PostSubject: A new engine from Roundcraft   A new engine from Roundcraft EmptyWed Nov 10, 2010 1:47 am

Hello all

Well another new model comes along, this time from Roundcraft.

Seriously though I spoke to a friend whilst running an engine at Elsecar and admired his new Roundhouse engine; to which he replied that he had built using parts from his bits box. This started me thinking and I reckoned that I had the makings of a new steam tram engine for the N.S.T.M.

Bringing together a heavily modified Roundhouse Stanley steam tram body with a modified Accuraft Edrig power unit and topped off with a boiler bought from somebody who was upgrading to a DJB Engineering coal fired boiler. A new safety valve tapping was silver soldered in. The burner has been made in the Roundhouse style and fastens to the boiler end plate by means of two tapped bossesStill some work to do when time allows between fixing engines for Customers.

Best

Interesting machine Mike and great to hear from you after a while.

I see you've retained the classic RH 'buffer beam slot heads'. Wink
