Student correspondance Empty
PostSubject: Student correspondance   Student correspondance EmptyThu Jan 20, 2011 9:15 pm

Again nothing to do with trains.

But at the moment I'm very busy again at 'work' namely teaching English to French students at lycée (high school).
I have 160 this time until July.

Whilst most have minimal interest there are some who are desperate to learn.

Right now I have a particular, persistant request from a very pleasant girl in the 'seconde' (15/16 year age group) who wants to correspond by letter - not email to an anglophone of similar age preferably, in the UK, USA or Australia even.

She has no internet access at home.

If anyone has or knows anyone who may like to correspond then let me know please by PM/e mail.

She is has a good intermediate level and wants to improve. She is one of my better students!

Carl, I've emailed a friend in the UK who has a daughter that might be potentially interested.

I'll PM you his details if she's interested!

Thanks Brian. Yes please.

I have got several decent kids who want to correspond actually. This particular one was just a bit more persistant though.

I often complain about the schools, the system, the kids mentality and behaviour and after 25 hours a week teaching it is exhausting.

But from time to time you get a few come up to you and show a real interest at that is what makes it worthwhile.
Very Happy

Carl:

I'm a governor at a girls' secondary school here in Islington. It's a specialist language college. We've got a Governors' training morning later and I'll ask the head to sort something with the languages department.

Phil, you kept that one quiet...... Wink Laughing

Seriously I would very much welcome any interest and contact between schools whether just individuals or groups and classes.

I'm sending you an email with my school details for info.
