New steamer for the CFJ Empty
PostSubject: New steamer for the CFJ   New steamer for the CFJ EmptyFri Feb 11, 2011 9:57 pm

This week the CFJ direction bought a steamtram engine to expand the fleet.
They where very happy to get their hands on the LGB 2050 OEG Steamtram:

According to the Garten Bahn Database the model is produced between 1973 and 1977, so it's a real oldy, well used but still in perfect condition. Even had it's original box. The only things I noticed so far is that it's missing the front buffer and the black paint on the side is worn of a bit. The engine runs nice but sounds a bit dry, so a service overhaul is planned.

Some show shots:

Happy as a child! cheers

Nice!

I had no idea what a steam tram was until I went to the Buurtspoorweg Museum (Viscinal Railways) in Schepdaal (near Brussels) in 1988.

I've liked them ever since, but I haven't acquired one yet. I wish the LGB model had exposed drivers with connecting rods, etc. for more visual interest (like the "Plettenburg" on the DEV), but it's still a nice one.
