For a number of years now I've been dumping steam oil and general muck all over a certain persons exhibition layout .
Had a bit of an idea and come up with this.
Got a galvanized plant trough from the garden centre...

Stuck some feet on it...

Cut it to a suitable size....

Made some track......

Made some suspension posts for the track....

Bolted it all together......

Painted it all with heat resistant paint, stuck the rollers on top and.....

That's an excellent idea. Why didn't I think of it!

I have to say that there is definitely a Blackpool tram inspired look about the base.

You have no idea how much I wanted to paint that base cream and green with added headlights.
It seems to work well,as a confined steam up area and a running display.

That's a brilliant idea, partiularly for the rather messy Accucraft loco's.

Also intrigued by some of the background in the shots taken in your workshop?

Is it a layout? A test area? A work in progress?
