I'm back after a nearly 5 week family trip to Australia.

I did manage a day trip to Belgrave in the Dandenongs east of Melbourne to visit the Puffing Billy railway.

Belgrave is also the terminus of the suburban 'Metro' line from Melbourne and the last part from Ferntree Gulley was constructed on what was part of the 2'6" Puffing Billy line which now runs from Belgrave to Gembrook.

There'll be some video to follow later.

Glad you enjoyed a bit of Australia. Great photos, especially for those that want to improve there modelling skills on the finer points of locomotives, etc.

Good to have you back Carl! How was it down below? Hopefully you had a good holliday.

Very nice pictures indeed! I love that low kettle car. Is it some sort of water car or was it used to transport something else?

I was wondering where you'd been. Thought maybe you'd dropped off the face of the earth (not quite, but Australia is way out there).  Hope you enjoyed your "winter" vacation.  Love the photos.

A new 1:19 scale live steam & electric garden railway model of "Puffing Billy" is currently being worked upon. This is an article from another garden railway site with some interesting photos. I like the colour of the loco.
