Truly sad and a great loss!

The announcement also says he died from blood poisoning.

Sad yes at a early age.
Lets hope the company continues as before.
How many times have we seen when the principle and driving force of a small company dies,the family do not seem capable of carrying on.
Many times they think they inherited a cash cow and do not have the expertise or technical input to carry on,or they are not prepared to put the long hours in that a lot of small company directors have to do.
Only time will tell,I wish them luck.

Yes, very sad news. I´ve met him on a number of occasions, as he set up his stand at practically every German-speaking show going, and also used to visit the Llanfair 16mm exhibition every two years, as well.

After a very nasty accident at home a couple of years ago, he was just beginning to get back to his old self, always available for a technical chat, but not a man for unnecessary small-talk.

We can only hope that the sons and the rest of the family continue to run the business in the innovative (and slightly eccentric) fashion that he did.
