I've been sidetracked for several years... came back to find this nice place seems so very quiet...

I am back!  Following the excellent Newsletter emailed to me

Ha, great minds think alike! Or something like that... Yes, I too saw the newsletter come through on Sunday, luckily I spotted it in my spam folder before clearing it down!

Hope we are all well and keeping our spirits up in the current situation. I have to say, the only thing preserving my sanity is the large stash of plastic model kits gathered over the years - that, and being serenaded by my collection of singing potatoes

Hi Peter, hope you are well and keeping safe through these difficult times. I am still on my never-ending journey of keeping my line running, and improving the track bed - with varying degrees of success! Now that the warmer weather is hopefully coming round again, I can hopefully progress things further.

Yes, sadly I had to close my site as I was finding the cost of renewing the domain too expensive. Added to that, the Photobucket site where most of my photos were hosted, was demanding lots of money for allowing photo hosting, so that finished it off really.

Yes these things cost money all the time, i lost alot of pics i had poster on Photobucket. so dont use them anymore.

Yes, I used Flickr almost exclusively after that until they were bought out by SmugMug and started charging people for anything over 1000 images

I now use Imgur as my host, which thus far (for nearly a year now) has been pretty stable, and still (for the moment at least!) free to use.

Is everyone surviving out there in CV 19 land and doing trains?

Yep, I'm still here! Haven't run a train in a few months, but I am still pitching in there! Having ceased work fully 2 years ago, I have been merrily self-isolating ever since, before anyone knew what that was!

Hope everyone else is keeping safe and keeping their trains rolling!

confinement barely finished, the fear of a new one looms.
no walk, but an inspection of the way in the garden requires the replacement of some sleepers !!!!!

I am still active in garden railways but not very active on the forums.
I move interstate after retirement and started a new railway in my backyard, it is elevated so I do not have to crawl around on the ground in my later years.
Being in Australia I am lucky and have not been severely impacted by CoVid so have made a lot of progress.
I created a Blog to record my construction and this is a link to it, hope people enjoy it

Many thanks I intend to update the Blog with all progress plus I have build logs of all of my locos and some scratch built rolling stock that will be added over time.

There is of course the HO blog as well Ringbalin Light Railway HO Division: About the Railway  
The HO is only small but allows me to still run trains in the middle of summer when temperatures here can reach over 32C for days on end.
I have just completed the main loop so I can at least run a train continuously it will be controlled by DCC eventually.

Le HO n'est que petit mais me permet de continuer à faire circuler des trains au milieu de l'été lorsque les températures peuvent atteindre plus de 32 ° C pendant des jours.
Je viens de terminer la boucle principale pour que je puisse au moins faire fonctionner un train en continu, il sera éventuellement contrôlé par DCC.
