Are we in a recession or am I just imagining things? Surely there is less disposable income around, or are folk using the extra money available from the mortgage interest rate falling?
I also dabble a bit in Oe (Fleischmann Magic Train). A few months ago I bought a brand new Magic Train StLB 0-4-0 diesel from Fleischmann Direct for £69 .... just looked at their new prices ..... £125 Shocked A Stainz 0-4-0 was a bit more expensive at £89 but it now costs £139 Shocked
Coaches have jumped from £16 to £32 ..... that's 50% affraid I'm not even going to look at the wagon prices.
Well, I'll bin it or put on eBay before I buy any more .... how come essentials like food and clothes are staying stable yet items we have no money left for are doubling in price. Am I missing something here?

Suspect

You're right Andy.

I am very surprised that suppliers of live steam locomotives have no stock and their order books are full awaiting the next delivery or production.

This is pushing secondhand prices up and people are paying!

Still it is quite a good time to buy 'British' with euros.....

The prices of all model railways - all scales have shot up Evil or Very Mad

It is bad news for all things model railway - the hobby's following will shrink because of this.

Preiser figures have shot up,.. I just paid £27 for a box of the 6 unpainted track-workers - the last lot I bought cost £20 - all of this because of a crap exchange rate I wonder?
