Hello to all Empty
PostSubject: Hello to all   Hello to all EmptySat May 30, 2009 10:16 pm

Hello to all, I am new to this forum, and also to garden trains.
I had a house that I've sold as I intend to build a new one.
Awaiting that future home, I am preparing a project for garden train, making intense search on the web.
Indeed, no longer having a house let me more spare time to do so!

I've only yet bought on ebay an old loco (LGB 2017) and ordered a live steam loco that I'am awaiting.

With my fresh knowledge, I 've created the french wikipedia page on the topic
http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Train_de_jardin

For that page I've made schematics that Ive also published on the english wikipedia page.
I've also created french DMOZ topic page.

As for live steam, I used to be (nearly ten years ago) a professional designer for steam heat recovery boilers (so with no fire) for 9 years. So I got some serious interest in steam.

I am preparing miscellaneous pages on my own site, but they shall be mainly in french.

Pierre

Bienvenue Pierre,

On peut discuter en français ou en anglais comme on veut.

Mainly the language is English but it's the content that is more important!

That is an excellent page on wikipedia and there is an English translate too I see.

You are not too far from me - albeit the other side of Paris but you are most welcome any time for a visit. We are on the RER E from Hausmann/St Laazare if you didn't want to drive.

There is an open weekend of garden trains at Geoff Watkins 'estate' in Deux Sevres on July 4th and 5th if you are interested in coming.

Very Happy

Hello,

And welcome, nice Wikipedia pages.

So we are 3 now next to Paris.

I don't have my track laid in the garden at the moment, as we don't know if we move or not yet (don't worry carl, i 'll intend to have a large garden if we move).

For the moment i am learning and looking arround and see what i would like to have later.
I bought few things to play with, mainly from Ebay and and i 've done a pre-order for a live steam locomotive a Decauville from Accucraft.
