Great advice Barry
I just hope you're "not taking the p*** "
PS Does one apply on top of the hills or try and pour it into the runs ???

No i'm not taking the p*** i poured it on the hills it is supposed to taint the food chain I think thats why moles don't appear in fields where cattle graze also theirs a powder on e bay which you scatter on the ground that also seems to work good luck

Cooler heads prevailed; the police chief withdrew the citation and scolded the officer who issued it.

At last a fine day of weather - thank goodness for the LGB track cleaning loco has done a wonderful job on both the upper (level) and lower lines.
Apart from running the Edrig live steam a couple of times over the winter, this is the first chance of a full running on the CFHC.
One spin off "advantage" of the seriously wet winter has been the growth of moss all over the railway. It looks like the expensive Noch grass you get from those electrostatic dispenser sold for the smaller gauges.
Now trying to divide my "railway" time between the Garden layout, getting the "Mine Module" ready for Ferroviart and assembling the parts for a live diesel project.
Great fun

We had this year's first visitor to the railway this afternoon, in the personage no less, than Mr FM12 and his 1300cc Yamaha.
Though now, Van has retired, sold his truck, and may soon be taking ownership of the Live Diesel for the Government of Seychelles railway, perhaps he should be renamed Mr GX12
Despite being given clear instructions to bring a live steamer from his fleet, he turned up with an LGB Kof and a rake of very nice Hartland open wagons.
So we had a pleasant couple of hours sheltering from the wind in my railway hut, chewing the fat and watching the trains go by

Yes a pleasant afternoon.
A good ride of over 100 miles with little traffic.
As Brian says,a nice couple of hours chewing the fat.
It also gives my lgb Kof some experience of inclines if ever my own railtrack suffers subsidence.

Yes we were lucky with the weather and that the Railway Hut faces North East away from yesterdays 60kph winds.

Had the second visit of the year today, Dave from the Wrexham and District Society of Model Engineers W&D.S.M.E happened to be staying in a gite nearby and paid a visit with his wife Hilary.
Dave is more used to his home built coal fired 3.5 and 5 inch gauge British Loco's but here he's seen test driving the Edrig...
And here getting a sneak preview of my Live Diesel before it heads off to the CFBS next weekend...
I must get round to cutting the grass and strimming the dandelions!

A tantalising glimpse of a rather nice looking 'objet d'art' in brass sat on the track. If it's too nice there might not be enough room in the car....

Van popped over on Thursday and we had a nice run of the Seychelles Live Diesel....
..... and his Li'ion powered Schoema.
Inspired by this, I dropped a Lipoly battery into my analog tram...
After 5 years operation, a few areas of track have needed relaying....

Railway and garden look great Brian. I'm happy to see the diesel running and if there are any issues with it Van please let me know. How's your diesel progressing Brian?
I'm a bit busy right now but I shall be back to trains on my return from Australia.

Good to hear from you Carl! We guessed you were either on your travels or getting ready to go!
My diesel's been going great since I switched to stainless steel bolts in place of the mild steel spigots on the flywheel. Van and I were just about to run it when I noticed the engine mountings had worked loose which means dismantling the power unit to fix it! Still need to finish off the bodywork, I'll post pics on the live diesel thread once it's finished!
I think we may have melted a clutch on the Seychelles Diesel as the power output was down at the end and there was a slight smell of burning. I can help Van replace it no problem as I have several spare since I've gone clutchless!

I've been back home for a week now following my hip operation and being restricted to crutches and indoor activity, spending time building various kits.
Luckily Caro has let me set up a mini work area indoors in the living area...
A couple of IP engineering coaches...
And a Swift 16 body kit for my Ragleth live steam Chassis...
I've also got an Occre tram on the way.

Rehab was going well until I developed a secondary infection and had to go back in for a further op and another week in hospital.
Anyway I'm out now and had the first opportunity with this spell of fine weather to run my "Owain" bodied, Accucraft Ragleth chassis for the first time!
I'm very pleased with this loco, the Swift 16 body kit was a dream to build and the chassis handles my "NOT LEVEL" track with ease building up slowly on the gradients (if not a bit speedy downhill) with prototypical performance...

I´ve been looking at the Owain Swift Sixteen kit to go with a chassis I´ve got (which has been looking for somewhere to go). It certainly looks good on your Ragleth. I´m currently in the process of finishing off the Swift Sixteen tram kit, and hope that I can get the lining done in time for a run round the K&NWLR. But don´t hold your breath. BTW - which Occre tram kit did you get? Occre instructions are supposed to be reasonably clear (pics).
Hope the rehab goes well. Been there myself!

You're brave with that tram kit, it looks a good deal more complex than the Owain body.
I built the Tibidabo tram (Barcelona) mainly because I liked the look of it...
Although I may be in Barcelona next February exhibiting with MOMI (Daniel, Tram47)
