Had a great day out at Brians CdF Haute ~Charente together with his wife Caroline and BIG Van (not the guy to pick an argument with, a gentle giant!!) Heres a few pics and i'm sure the other's pics will follow

Brian and Van steaming up their 'Lawley' and ~Edrig'

Next up shows Brian firmly in control# a great fully digitised layout with some great scenic features

Van anxiously watching Lawley passing by. ~The loco started a bit sluggishly but you could visibly see it improve as things settled in

Great.....any more pics?

I think it's excellent that people are meeting up especially as 'we' are not exactly on each other's doorstep. France is a big country!

The railway is starting to look really impressive Brian and it's always good to see locomotives from the same family together.
Oh.... and people with wine glasses, I like that too! Smile

Blimy....where does your 'garden' finish?....Don't tell me it's at that big green shed in the background.

BTW, Mikey looks more handsome than I first thought. Like a Star @ heaven
And you're dead right, I wouldn't want to be a picketing French fisherman if Van turned up at Calais Ferry terminal with his Volvo.... Mad

Cracking pics, lads, and a great layout developing there. Looks like you were all doing a tough job though, having to run trains and drink wine... still, someone has to do it I guess Cool

Hi Van / Mike

I didn't seem to get any close up shots of Mike's super scratch built Tram and Tender engine. If either of you took some it would be great to post them here!

Cheers Brian

I dont think anybody took any shots as it didnt run! When I got home I realised what the problem was. The scratchbuilt loco is normally paired with a fourgon containing a sound module ( the couplings are compatible), the wagon I bought up goes with all the stainz's (LGB couplings). any more pics?

Yes Clive it was a hard day.

Having to fuel up engines, wine bottles seem harder to open these days, and decisions with various cheeses and meats to choose from at lunch.

Life at times here in France is hard lol!

By the time this pic was taken Van's Lawley had settled in and was going at a fair rate of knotts. One of Brian's dogs decided it was not worth chasing!

That would be interesting.

Hi Guys

The plan in my last post will hopefully, soon be out of date.

Inspired by Geoff's reversing Y and having a good few metres of track spare, I'm going to install what will effectively be a reversing loop (marked in red) between two new Trainline R3 turnouts circled yellow in the following plan. I've also ordered a Massoth reversing loop module and the necessary isolating joiners.

Today on the CFHC - Page 3 New_lo10

I'll try and keep you posted as this extension to CFHC develops.

Back from Mikeys this weekend with the rail bender have completed the reversing line ...

Carl earlier asked for some kind of aerial view - I'm afraid this is my best effort balanced on top of a step ladder...
