'Ello All
Had some fellow G Scalers round to my layout yesterday - Fed them pies, made them coffee and plied them with "sticky buns" - In turn they brought some stock to run
Here's a slide show of some of the pictures taken ( I have omitted pictures of the attendees where I could - no need to incriminate anyone! )
First time I've had a go at a slideshow on "Photobucket" - Hope it works

And here's a video featuring the "Anglicised Bo-Bo", some LGB tankers, a GE II/II and modern freight

Looks like an interesting layout, with some nice features / buildings, and a shed load of stock.

I might have a think about running a live steam only event and give my Lady Anne a chance to "stretch her legs".
Oopps - Can I say that?
I`ll throw my Lawley in the cab and keep a eye out if you do hold a locomotive à vapeur day.

Nice pics Ian - Can I ask, how is your 'rock face' bearing up - it's been in place a couple of years now, has it not?

Hi Clive,
Thanks for asking
The rockface is bearing up sort of ok - I say sort of as there are areas I've had to repair, mainly the ridge of the mountain (top of the fence) as the birds sit on there waiting to drink and bathe in the waterfall
There are other areas that need looking at where the render has worn away due to the weather - wind, rain, frost etc, - But isn't that what happens in the real world?
If I were to start again I would maybe see if I could do what you are doing with the Celcon blocks and then render. With my mountain I used chicken wire an hessian soaked in concrete as the base structure and there is some "flex" in it and in certain areas this has exacerbated the render breaking down.
If we'd had better weather this year I was going to carry out some serious maintenance on the mountain, but when I've had any time to do it - Is rained
I have patched up some areas of the mountain where the worst problems were.

Really nice place, I like the rack line. What is the % of the ramp ?

The upper section of the line isn't as bad as it looks . I've had a Stainz run up that section without so much as trying
The initial section, up the viaduct is the steepest section and cannot be achieved without anything other than a rack loco.
I haven't worked out percentage, but if it ever stops raining here I'll go out and take some measurements for you

But of course I also ran a Stainz on Bruce's rack line with two 4 wheel coaches - no problemo
