Interesting pictures Clive. At least I can now see that the 'thing' over their shoulder seems to be a fire blanket! (and not a cape)

That last card looks to me like it's some sort of awards display - medals, leaf clusters, etc. Perhaps in memory of fallen comrades?

In any case, more great images form the past. I especially like the second card- look at the expression and bearing of that man.

oui, c'est une sirène ( très forte ) entrainée par la roue .
époque 1900- 1920 .
Hélas , caché sur la photo le frein est un tampon de caoutchouc qui frotte sur le pneu !!!
