Nothing to do with railroads, but.....

I heard on the radio this morning the sales of french champagne and cognac took a big hit in 2009, but sales of french vodka were up. What does that say? Bigger bang for your buck, perhaps?

A votre sante.

Ernest and Julio Gallo generally sell their "wines" in gallon jugs with screw caps. I'm not surprised their customers couldn't tell the difference. "drunken Marge, what's this cork doin' in my wine bottle? drunken "

Interesting how the scam was discovered, though. Lesson to thieves- do your homework.

Not sure if the Fench would say Laugh My Arse Off actually.

Expressions that I have heard are:

C'est à se rouler (par terre) ! = A bit like, roll on the ground laughing.

Rire un bon coup = Have a good laugh.
