Nice pictures Bill! Seeing your railcar running I'm thinking to invest in some better batteries for my trains.

And I'm still looking for the ' binding plug' to get the 2.4 GhZ set working again. Or I have to make a new one... Rolling Eyes

Hi Carl,
Still working on the "Eggerbahn" railbus. Actually it's on hold because of a1:1 scale project:

@Dtsteam; scroll up to the october 19th post, the picture of Bill and me. Thats about all there is. No big railway, just a small 8 about 2 by 4 metres.

Here's a picture on working on the railroad last week. Had to demolish a viaduct I made for the Gn15 railway because the steamcar got stuck in it...

Such a pity the viaduct looked like a really strong structure, it looks like you have managed to keep your weeds in check as well. I am sure mine are related to Triffids.

The viaduct will not be removed completely, only the middle section. There will be a flat bridge between the pillars for the (still to come, waiting for 2years) Gn15 track.

Well, keeping up with the weeds is quit easy in my poststamp size garden Smile

At the moment a HUGE extension is taken place at the Juruth railway. I started yesterday evening.

Here is the old situation:

Thanks! I must admit it is fun to do so, checking out what works and what not in the small garden. The challenge is to use as much as available space but also to prevent it is gettin overcrowded with tracks. It has to keep it's low traffic side line appearence.

The fun thing is this expension was necessary because I had the tracks stocked in the garage but they were only taking up space there (as swmbo pointed out). To clean out the garage ment I had to lay the tracks in the garden... Razz
The same thing for the stock of portland cement, sand and perlite (also taking space in the garage) that I now use for the track works.

Bill, keep the krokodil at home: all R1 curves on my railway. Your railbus however is always welcome Wink

Here some more progress pictures. The base is made from broken pavement tiles, hypertuffa at the edges and inbetween and finally covered with a layer of concrete.
This works reasonable fast and make a steady base.

The Krok will do R1s, but as for the other tight clearances...

Well, If it can do R1 curves we cangive it a try, but I'm afraid the Krokodil will get stuck in the tunnel too..

Meanwhile, did some work on the tracks the last days (during semi dry moments...)

The path crossing. Still need something between the rails. I'm planning to use some wooden strips for it:

Bit of ballasting:

Chemin de Fer Juruth - Page 2 152126832-vi

Chemin de Fer Juruth - Page 2 20233478544-vi

And a retaining wall:

Still hoping for some better weather...

Paul, I would love to see an aerial photo of your garden just to see how this all fits in.
Or maybe a train mounted camera tour.
Excellent.

Good idea Carl. I'll try to get a camera on a flat car one of these days and film a whole round.

A few more progress pictures. The newest part of the concrete / hypertufa is hardening under the plastic covers. I'm almost finnished with the railbed now. I have run out of gravel so I have to visit the DIY store next week again for more.

Thanks!

The gravel is from the local DIY store. It's about 1 to 5 mm small. Although it looks light beige to white it actually varies in color. Also a bit too round in form for my taste but the overall look is ok.
I believe it was a few euro for a 20 kg bag but I can tell precisly somewhere this week when I buy a new bag Wink

Some new pictures. In the circkle I made a plateau out of hypertuffa. Apart from the wannabee bridge the forms of the plateau are made out of styrofoam plates, filled with bits of styrofoam, empty old plastic flowerpots and hypertuffa. This gives a lightweigt but steady base (better than 1 big concrete block). The walls will be covered with a concrete/sand/soil mixture with stones carved in.

Chemin de Fer Juruth - Page 2 18261515168-vi

Chemin de Fer Juruth - Page 2 18261523648-vi

On top I planned some sort of castle like forrest house. This will also be build using styrofoam and concrete mix (the same technique as the little cafe I had with me on RailExpo).

Covering the styrofoam wall with the concrete mix.

Also filled the joints an covered the roofs of the house with the same mixture. This gives the rough model more strength so it is easier to work with.
