Looks like a neat project. Reminds me of the 'African Queen'. Too small for G scale, though.

Lots of other tinplate projects here as well.

Great project and I found another from the same site.

Some useful G scale wagons.

Tinplate is difficult to get here but I'm still discovering zinc.

.6 mm thick roofing sheets 2m x 1m for 60 euros from most brico places.

Just as easily soldered as tin.

That is a fascinating site Bill, ( should we call you "Steamboat Bill" ) , I think that the readers on here can learn a lot from the video's. Just waiting for the soldering one to load, and all this by a GIRL , oops am I not being PC ? I always feel sad to throw my cans in the recycle system, now I can hoard them up, flatten em and store them and build , God forbid , a live d******l body aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh noooooooooooo. Maybe something a bit LESS comperlicated.

A great link to the site , thanks.

edit : well I learned a bit about SODORING , good video, terrible pronunciation - even the wick was called SODOR WICK. Also surprised that no mention was made of dangerous fumes when soldering galvan.
