Sorry for short notice, but a number of us are planning to get together next Wednesday 8th August here at the CFHC.

If any forum members can transport themselves to the North East corner of the Charente next week you'll be very welcome!

No, it's Dorothy who is a volunteer "gamesmaker". She is on VIP seats duty at the Aquatics Centre and ruefully admits that her role is to stop people without proper ID sitting in the "Olympics family" seats many of which remain empty even when the likes of Michael Phelps are swimming. Her most exciting task so far has been to guard a ladies loo with a defective lock while the Home Secretary had a pee.

We have seen Murray, Tsongas and Sharapova on Centre Court and Cameroon v. S. Korea at Wembley (0-0). Mexico-Senegal tomorrow...

Our thanks to all that came, but in particular Daniel and Genevieve for providing enthusiastic and uninterrupted translation of all things Garden Railway to our French neighbours - Oh! and the Magnum of Bordeaux and delicious food of course!
