| Night shots with the reflections in the wet are very enjoyable to look at. We're happy if you're snappy. How do you take these pictures then? What camera, shutter speeds, remote release etc., and all that m'larky.... I've never really mastered the technical art of it. It's just luck and perserverance with me. | |

| Some more very moody shots there. I agree with Carl it's the air of 'wet weather', reflected artificial light and some deep, dark, ghostly silhouettes and shadows that makes the whole scene really come to life. I imagine that the camera would have had to be mounted on some sort of tripod or other stable surface, as otherwise the longer exposures would show up any camera shake, however steadily you thought you were holding it!
Nice, I can withstand any amount of that kind of punishment! | |

| I use a cheap digital camera on night setting (Long exposure). I usually use a block of wood to mount it on and hold it steady for the long shutter time. The locos are, of course stationary, hence the hazey smoke plummes. I must admit, I do tend to use the smoke facility on steam locos a lot when I have a running sesssion. With DCC, as you are aware, smoke and lights can be on whilst the locos are stood still. This pic is of one of mt Stainz running light up out of the cutting into Gstadt station " border="0" alt=""/> | |

| Nice shots again Paul... so that snowplough, how effective was it in practice? I guess you needed to give it a shove with a second loco, but did it actually stay on the rails? | |

| Thanks Clive If the snow was say 20mm deep, the plough will clear it on its own and not derail. The loco weighs 2.7 kilos. The snow in the pics is about 70mm deep, so with a Stainz behind it, the pair cleared the whole circuit without stalling. | |

| I was lucky enough to find these four coaches of the "Flascherlzug" (Bottle train) second hand last week. The missing blue coach is on its way to me in the post from another G Scale mate. | |
