What track are you planning to use? You´ve got a couple of interesting curves on that line!

All the track for the extension is gscale Tenmille flexi track, bought secondhand from various sources off ebay.
The track boards are redundant UK scaffold boards 200mm wide.To make the angles less acute,I could have used shorter boards and more posts, but I`ve been trying to keep the posts equally spaced.Although some of the angles on the boards look sharp, the minimum radius will be 4ft(r3s).I will probably add a fillet to the inside of a couple of the bends, just so that I can keep the track central on the boards.

Looks good, and four foot radius sounds enough, unless your planning to switch to running Big Boys and the like. Have fun and good luck building during the good weather.

More progress over the last weekend.
Three pillars built on the old engine shed floor.
Just to the left of the middle pillar you can see the cutaway for one of the flywheels.
Also the tree behind has paid the penalty of self setting in brick subsoil, its to be cut and logged later this year for fuel for the winter of 2015/16.

The posts and boards are probably overkill but knowing my luck a sapling will come down next week, also some of the large oaks tend to shed a branch or two in autumn. With hindsight I should probably have run the extension away from the trees, but in the hot weather they provide welcoming shade.
As far as the track goes it will just be a plain oval, but at least the locos can stretch their legs(wheels).

Now looking down oak walk(the oaks are out of frame to the right).
The two block pillars will carry two boards side by side so that I can construct a passing loop.
Also in view to the left is the section running over the engine shed floor.
