That's excellent, your wife helping with your hobby.

I sincerely hope you're helping with her hobbies too, ironing, cooking, washing up...... Laughing

Seriously, that is one thing that I can never see happening in my house. Trains and everything associated are my affair completely.

I think I'm a bit jealous actually. I love you

Hi Mike

Haven't seen you post here for a while? I wondered if you'd finished the track laying and straightening those R1's with Geoff's bender?

Look forward to more pics!

Dear Brian
Many thanks for your enquiry of todays inst. I must inform you that several R1's have been slightly straightened to ensure that the last 3 metres to form a circuit will now be restricted to straight track, As for progress there has been none due to it effing pi**ing down every day since we last met!!! We have never seen such rain in the nine years we have lived here!! All the fields are flooded and the rivers have burst their banks. We are promised better weather after next tuesday

yours sincerely

I paid a short visit to Tramway Demiel yesterday which must constitute the third meeting of the CGT West Coast Chapter.

After leaving the balmy weather in the Charente and heading south over the border into the Dordogne, the clouds gathered and even a few drops of rain began to fall. Anyway, as might be expected I received a warm and sunny welcome by Mike and Glyn, and met Mike's charming family.

This young lady wanted to be in all the pictures ...

Thanks again to Glyn and Mike for your hospitality.

I left clutching a roll of rubber yacht decking (don't ask - all to be revealed later) and Geoffs rail bender (to complete the new reversing loop back at the CFHC.)

And yes Mike the sun did come out as I drove north again!

Cheers B

Well I just think it's pretty damn good just how many meets there have been now in the 9 months or so the forum has been going considering the distances between people. cheers

That mairie looks superb Mikey. The roof really makes it.

Sorry but the only thing that spoils the pics is that Pola building. It's out of place. silent

Dunno, Mikey, that market is missing something - can't put my finger on what.... Cool - something should be with you towards the end of this week to put that right....

(Nice pics though Brian, and that church is a winner!)

Well this is as good a place as any to ask questions - we all had to start somewhere, and getting advice from others is always a good idea.

I would say that a lot can be learned from buying some track and maybe a point or two, and just throw it together on the grass to see how it looks, and maybe run a loco on it. Yes, some planning is useful, but sometimes one can spend too long 'just thinking'...

The Frenchies don't often run cab first unless the engine was specifically designed (les Bicabines).

When I exhibit at expos people always say "pourquoi ça march en arrière ?".

Running cab first seems more of an English thing - and long may it continue. Laughing

You've got me wrestling with my conscience now!! I only paid 1800 for my car !(mind you it was parked in a garage for five years after the original owner died)

It does look good though ( the loco that is!!)
