| Impressive. Is it going to be a fully working steam electric locomotive? If so what will he use for actual generators I wonder. It looks as though he using 4 pairs of twin cylinder oscillating engines to power them.
If you get any more info it will be good.

| Does that mean a Regner Max driving a BLDC motor will be a Hibbsman ? | |

| Fascinating. There were also British and US steam-electrics, As you can see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steam_turbine_locomotive#Electric_transmissionThe last US ones were built for Chesapeake & Ohio and Norfolk & Western railways, both major coal haulers, and were an attempt to continue using coal as fuel as diesels began to supplant steamers. They were huge and powerful, but ultimately unsuccessful. Water, coal dust, and 1950's era electrical gear were apparently a bad combination. I recall the idea for a steam electric was talked about again after the first of the oil price shocks in the US (1970s), but cooler heads prevailed. BTW, N&W was the last major American railroad to build a new steam locomotive, an 0-8-0 switcher, in 1958. | |

| Hi Mike I saw it featured as a MOTY winner in the June issue of 16mm today.
A fine piece of craftsmanship!
Fancy bringing it over to France one day so we can see it in the flesh?
